Three Prompts

The universe tastes like one of Willy Wonka’s amazing creations. It is a flavor that you experience. Not one of his candies that is the most successful, no, not even one that gets past the testing process. It was too abnormal. Every other minute the flavor was enjoyable, and the minutes in between it would leave a strange taste in your mouth. The sweet minutes are a classic vanilla bean, not overtly complex, but provide warmth and happiness. The more bitter moments are like fennel. They have a bitter licorice flavor, but it is subtle enough that even the negative moments are redeemable. The constant change leaves room for wonder and curiosity.

Monday is a cynical pessimist. He is in his sixties and has never woken up on the right side of the bed. Monday can’t keep friends. He has a big caffeine addiction and is impossible to talk to when he doesn’t have his three cups of coffee in the morning. He is on a first name basis with the barista at Starbucks.

Tuesday sucks at relationships. She is in her late thirties and can never seem to keep a relationship going for more than half a year. While this can be bothersome, she is content with her life. A big contributing factor with her failed relationships is that she doesn’t feel a huge need to seek out companionship. She has plenty of friends, and a few really close ones, so she never feels alone.

Wednesday rolls out of bed every morning and wants to go back to sleep. He has his morning routine down and never strays from it. He is in his mid-twenties and has a good starter job, but is always looking forward to the next step. He is content with his life, but knows that there is always room for improvement.

Thursday doesn’t care what people think about her. She is a feminist who marches to her own drum and doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do. She is in her early thirties and owns a vintage consignment shop. She lives everyday in the present, but dresses from the past.

Friday is extremely relaxed. He has an optimistic view of life and never lets anything bother him. He loves very extroverted and loves to hang out at the beach with friends. Friday is a foodie. After it starts to get dark, he usually goes out with friends to the newest gourmet restaurants, but sometimes they change it up and just go to a pub.

Saturday is a six-year-old little girl. She always wears her favorite sundress and rain boots, no matter what the weather is, because they make her happy. She has big chocolate brown eyes and ash blonde hair that reaches her waist. She has an infectious smile that can light up a room and a constant giggle that can make anyone’s day.

Sunday is a teenage girl that is a perfectionist, but also a huge procrastinator. She gets so worried about everything being perfect that she doesn’t think she has enough time to do it right, so everything is always left unfinished. She is also very critical of other people doing things imperfectly. Sunday tends to wear leggings or jeans with oversized sweaters and sweatshirts, but she always looks put together.

I don’t think that I’m quite ready yet, but mother says that it will be time to go soon, my brothers and sisters have to leave her. Yeah, I’m scared, but falling is inevitable. And anyway, its not really falling, more like floating. Floating sounds nice. I hope I get to fly in the wind, some of my siblings left yesterday and a few of them got to. It looked like a lot of fun, even though it took them further away from mother. I’m so nervous and I hope I’ll be ready when it’s my turn. Only time will tell.
